We all know the joy of seeing gathered blossoms, and bunches artfully put together by the local florist. But have you ever thought that you don’t have to be a top designer to create incredible arrangements of your own? The Amsterdam Flower School, which just launched, invites all who want to experience the art of flowers to join their open workshops in Amsterdam. They’re collaborating with extraordinary floral designers and local artisans to brings one-of-kind experiences to the city’s most-flowery corners.

Find yourself through flowers

The Amsterdam Flower School believes in a connection with nature’s flora. We know it, and science proves it; flowers have the power to bring happiness, restoration, and inspiration to us busy city people. So taking time out to join a creative workshop will always be like meditation and a gift to yourself.

Free-spirited floral styling

The launching workshop will be a wild introduction with the incredible Paul Wijkmeijer. An original Dutch flower boy who first found his hand at flowers at just three years old. A few decades on, he developed a signature style and opened his own shop in Haarlem, the Bloemenatelier Klavertje, where he’s been a happy creator for the last 22 years. When he’s not surrounded by flowers in his shop, he’s travelling the world to design sets, shoots, and shows. His latest project: a cover shoot for Elle Decoration.

Wijkmeijer’s workshop is for those wanting daring hand-gathered bouquets, bursting with clashing colours and textures of the season. He’s all about translating emotions into flower arrangements, you’ll learn how he does it, and he’ll also offer tips on select quality flowers and developing your own style.
