A Shazam-like app to help you identify plants
Pl@ntNet is a mobile app that allows you to identify flowers and plants by simply taking a photo. Developed by a group of French scientists, the app is already able to identify over 6.000 plants in Western Europe. In a world where plant knowledge has become increasingly rare amongst the younger generations, the app provides quick and updated information within seconds. It can be used by anyone from the general public just looking to identify a plant on a sidewalk, to farmers and gardeners curious about the flowers that grow on their land or botanists looking for the location of a rare flower. In this video, the makers of Pl@ntNet show exactly how their innovative, community-based app works.
