In collaboration with the University of Wageningen and WHIM Architecture, the University of Rotterdam developed Recycled Park, a concept floating structure made of hexagonal building blocks designed to trap plastic collecting at the mouth of the Nieuwe Maas before it enters the North Sea. The structure's upper surface will double up as an accessible park for visitors to walk on, improving the ecological diversity in an area that would otherwise be deplete of nature.
