A city herb and vegetable garden looking reconnect city dwellers to their green surroundings
Rotterdamse Munt is a city herb garden in Rotterdam Zuid. The garden is located on a little hill on the side of a busy city road, and open to anyone who wants to learn about gardening or is keen to cook with locally grown herbs and vegetables. Yearly and monthly subscriptions are available to those who want to come pick their own herbs. The garden also offers an educational programme for elementary and high schools, as well as organised garden tours, workshops, and lunches. The garden was started by the Rotterdamse Munt Foundation as a way improve the quality of life in the neighbourhood and the rest of the city. By providing a green, educational space that also produces its own produce, the garden makes room for healthier, more creative city living.
