An interdisciplinary creative group creating stunning flower installations
Japanese collective teamLab use digital technology to push the boundaries of art. Many of their works have focused on flowers such their ‘Floating Flower Garden’, an interactive kinetic installation in which 2,300 real flowers were suspended mid-air, floating up and down in response to a visitor’s movements. They take this concept into a more virtual realm with many other projects, including their recent work ‘Flowers on People’, which consisted of a seemingly pitch-black room that was lit up with flowers as viewers entered the exhibition space. Interested in the relationship between viewer and art piece, teamLab see the use of flowers as a way to comment on the cycle of growth and human interaction with nature.
