A Journal exploring the value of plants and flowers

Disney’s Botanicus Interactus

It might come as a surprise to learn that the Walt Disney Company has a research lab, but they do. Their recent invention, coined ‘Botanicus Interactus’ is a system which allows humans to interact with plants. The process is non-invasive; a single wire placed in the soil connects with the plant and is able to detect when a human comes into contact with it. The weirdest outcome of which allows humans to ‘play’ the plants, just as they would a musical instrument. By no means is this the first example that scientists have fused living matter with the artificial, but it might well be the most playful (pun intended).
