A Journal exploring the value of plants and flowers

Popup Forest

PopUP Forest will be a temporary installation of woodland and wildlife in the middle of New York City. It’s hard to imagine, but almost 1/8 of New York is actually forests, marshes, and meadows. Yet not many city dwellers are aware of the existence of these places, and the latter are disappearing at rapid speed to make way for buildings and other urban developments. PopUP Forest wants to show New Yorkers the green beauty of their city by building a fully functioning forest right in the middle of Times Square. A successful Kickstarter campaign has allowed the project to go into its design phases, and the trees could pop up on NY city streets as early as May 2017.
